Asian Art Museum

Today we went to the Asian Art Museum on a field trip with Linda and Ian to see the Samurai exhibit. We saw really cool armor, swords, fans, and artwork that all belonged to one family from the past 600+ years. Their family crest was a pattern of nine dots called the nine planets. We went on a scavenger hunt to find the crest on as many things as we could. It was a lot of fun. The coolest place I found it was on the armor pictured here.

We got to see some cool stuff from their theater. My favorite was the monkey mask.

One of the rooms was set-up with a replica of a Japanese living room with kimonos to try on and even a samurai helmet. There was a lot of manga in there too. There was a go board in the room. I had fun dressing up in the clothes but the helmet was really heavy.
